Adopt-a-Party
Join the party and work with Bright Blessings to help celebrate a homeless child’s special day! Your group will participate by:
  • As needed, sponsor party supplies, cake or cupcakes, juice and/or other party items
  • Decorate the party room at the shelter and help set up activity supplies
  • Volunteer at the party to help children with activities, serve cake and juice, and pass out treat bags and gifts

A Note to Parents: Not all homeless shelters and housing/program facilities allow youth volunteers on-site, due to peer sensitivity and/or privacy policies. Even if your children are unable to volunteer at your Adopt-a-Party, the whole family can participate in the preparation!  Some suggestions include:

Decorate cupcakes or bake a cake for the party.  Get creative and make a special birthday banner to hang at the party.  Take the kids shopping and let them choose a birthday gift for a child their own age to donate to Bright Blessings.  Each step of the party preparation offers a great opportunity to talk to you children about the project, and provides even the youngest participant a chance to feel the joy of giving to others in need.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities
As a volunteer-led organization, Bright Blessings relies on the generosity of individuals willing to help us keep up with the weekly workload and spread the word throughout the community.  As an individual volunteer, you are invited to help support and represent our organization in a variety of ways:

Weekday volunteers: Help sort and organize donations, wrap and assemble gift packages, organize party supplies and kits, assist groups with special projects, and provide help with ongoing office work and organization.  Contact Us to schedule your volunteer time at Bright Blessings.

Help with community events!  Festivals, special events, fundraising projects, and more.  Help with event set up and activities, greet visitors, and distribute information. Contact Bronwyn Pressley, community relations manager, to learn more!

PLEASE NOTE: The Giving Village at Bright Blessings is a family-friendly environment. Children are welcome and encouraged to come and volunteer alongside a parent. For our youngest little “helpers” we also have a dedicated play space.  At-home parents who are looking to do some volunteer work are welcome to bring their little ones along.  However, PLEASE NOTE that our playroom is designed for 5 or less children at one time, therefore we are unable to accommodate large volunteer groups with multiple young children.

Click here for weekday office hours.   Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available by APPOINTMENT ONLY.                             To schedule your volunteer time at Bright Blessings, please Contact Us.
